It is a bit of satire; a composition to paint with a bunch of visual stuff - shapes, foreground, midground, background, etc.

This is the first of a number of large oil paintings I intend to produce.

The earliest entries are at the bottom... newest at the top.
Below is a grayscale rough for the painting's composition.

Horn,
Question.
Suppose you wanted to add a new figure at this point to your painting, could you do that? Would you do that?
If so what are your concerns and preparation of that area?
I assume that you would have to scrape the area if the bush strokes are apparent? If they are not apparent and the under-painting is smooth, would you just paint in the new figure over the existing paint? I assume the paint would have to be opaque.
Or is all this worked out completely in the preliminary sketches and you would never change it?l
You painting is so interesting and dearm-like.
I'm not sure which image you are referring to. Your comment is under the rising central figure, but I think you meant to comment the uprooted tree image.
At any rate, There are several figures in that area of the painting, but not over the root part of the uprooted tree. it is just not finished yet... and you are right in thinking that the composition is pretty much worked out. I deviate a bit here and there, but not much...
Thanks for your comment :)
BTW, padurrett... my name is Hone, not Horn... :)
I am sorry...I did know your name is "Hone"... it was just a typo. Thanks for the comment. (Oops, saw a few more that I didn't catch.)
